AXN Challenge 2005 - A multi-disciplinary urban adventure race organized by AXN - Asia's only 24-hour non-stop action adventure channel - and supported by the Tourism Malaysia

Date : Saturday, 1 October 2005
Venue : Start & End Point - KLCC Parking Lot @Jalan Ampang (Opposite Ave K).

Food Challenge

27th Sept - COMPULSORY Skills Test, Equipment Checks and Race Briefing for KLites . Venue at Summit Climbing Gym from 6pm. Last check-in no later than 7:45pm of you will be turned away.

1st Oct: RACE DAY

0830 hrs : Bike drop off at Lake Garden Parking Lot

1000 hrs : Teams register at start line at Open-air Carpark, opposite Isetan @ KLCC

1015 hrs : Distribution of race instructions, maps. Race briefing

1100 to 1200 : Pre race planning

1200 hrs : Move to start line. VIP welcome address

1230 hrs : Flag off!

- Haf to run around kl and look for 6 clues (answer 6 questions regarding places around the area)
- Once completed, pick up a brick and ran to the Ampang Park LRT Station and pick up a pail.
- Then continue running under the hot blazing sun to Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve
- Teams must complete 3 out of 5 Matrix Zone tests. Among the tests were sponge throw, island
crossing and go-kart.
- Upon completion, teams must drop the pail and brick and ran to Central Market.. Duhh hot!!
- Central Market Food Challenge - corn on the cob : eat the corn without touching it.. pretty easy and
since we were all starving, the corn got destroyed pretty fast.
- After filling up our tummy, we had to run to lake garden for the next task
- Reached Lake Garden and had to complate an obstacle test where one person cannot touch the ground
(that would be me), another had to be blindfolded(baby) and the other person had to carry me.
- Next, continue running to the next checkpoint and perform another obstacle course :Over and Under.
- First technical test - flying fox done by Anis while Baby and I had to canoe around Lake Garden for 3
rounds and pick up 1 can of Sprite Remix each round. Fuhh that canoe was tough to handle..
- then haf to pick up bike and haf to complete 3 checkpoints - memorial TAR, Eusoff Teh Residence
@Bukit Tunku and Sri Perdana Residence @ Jalan Damansara. Then cycled up to Brickfields.
Our team did not make the cut off time (we were late by 15 minutes) and we had to skip all the 3
checkpoints and proceed straight to Tien Ho Temple in Brickfields.
- Mystery Test - change a flat tyre. phew luckily we had a few experience (although still kelam kabut when
changing the tube and using the hand pump.. hehe)
- Cycle down to Lorong Syed Putra Kiri and up to Chinese Cemetery.. quite a large cemetery, never been
here before and have to go out via Jalan Bellamy.
- From Jalan Bellamy, continue cycling to Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka - drop bikes here
- Proceed to Berjaya Times Square on foot. saki-baki tenaga yg ade ni, masa ni bertembung ngn team
Storm.. lari sama-sama to Times Square
- Next Technical Test - 2 team members must make their way up to 5th floor by stairs.
- 5th Floor - Baby had to climb a wall structure at the amusement park while I had to continue walking up
the stairs to 16th floor.. uwaaa!! siap take 5 tu kat tingkat 10 keke
- Abseiling - wo0ho0 highest abseiling ever done by AXN - 85 metres high.. gayat!!
- Both members have to meet up with their other team member for the next test - Perodua Car Pull
- I steered the 4wd while the other two had to push the car. The Golden Rule - prohibited to start the
engine. Siap orang tu puji pandai bawak kete.. kekeke
- Continued running to KLCC. Must follow Jalan Imbi, Jln Sultan Ismail, Jln Raja Chulan and Jln Kia Peng
- Last obstacle course - Hurdles From Hell - one of the toughest obstacles
- Teammates are tied together and had to go over the hurdles without your feet touching the ground. AND
one hand must touch the ground at all times.. You figure it out..
- Final 200m sprint to the finishing line.. Yahoo!!

2100 hrs : Prize presentation
